WWOOF with Us: Learn, Grow and Connect at Humble Heart
Cultivating a Food Forest, Building a Community
At Humble Heart Homestead, we believe that the best way to heal the land is to live in harmony with it. Since 2021, we’ve been transforming 3 acres of former dairy land in Morrisville, Vermont, into a thriving, regenerative permaculture food forest.
But we aren’t just growing fruit trees and raising heritage ducks—we’re growing a community. We invite passionate, curious, and hard-working WWOOFers to join us in this journey of stewardship, education, and nutrient-dense living.
The WWOOF Experience: A Day in the Life
WWOOFing at Humble Heart is about more than "farm work"—it’s an immersion into sustainable homesteading. Our projects are diverse and follow the rhythm of the seasons. You might find yourself:
Tending the Food Forest: Mulching, planting, and maintaining over 300 perennial fruit trees and shrubs.
Animal Stewardship: Caring for our colony-raised rabbits, rotating our flock of 40 ducks and chickens through fresh pasture, and checking on our three beehives.
Infrastructure & Building: Helping with "big vision" projects like our duck pond or the upcoming 2026 farm sauna.
Nourishing the Next Generation: Observing or assisting with our nature-based kids' camps (ages 3–8) where we teach the little ones to love the soil as much as we do.
The Perk of the Day: The Table. Food is central to our mission. You’ll enjoy a communal, from-scratch lunch every day. We specialize in a traditional, nutrient-dense diet—think local meats, farm-fresh eggs, and garden produce. We are 100% gluten-free and use no refined sweeteners or seed oils.
Don’t Just Take Our Word For It...
Reflecting on a beautiful 2025 season!
"What a wonderful week we spent WWOOFing here. The time spent working was challenging yet fun, and the camaraderie with the other WWOOFers made for a pleasant atmosphere. Lauren is an excellent cook... She has a really strong vision for the farm that involves building community. This is a place we'd like to return to." — Justen, WWOOFer (August 2025)
"We had an AMAZING experience... It was so much more than a place to crash—their beautiful farm and property really made it feel like a getaway, and their kindness as hosts was heartfelt." — Recent Farm Stay Guest

The Cabin: A 10x12 hemlock retreat with a private fire pit.
The Amenities: Access to our outdoor composting toilets, a sun-drenched outdoor shower, and a simple outdoor kitchen for your independent breakfasts and dinners.
