We’re Hiring! Summer Camp Counselors

Are you passionate about working with children, growing food, and building a more just world? Humble Heart Homestead is looking for 3–4 enthusiastic, motivated, and engaged young people to join our team as Summer Camp Counselors this summer.

This is a unique opportunity to co-facilitate a vibrant summer program alongside long-time educator-mentors. You won’t just be a helper—you will be a vital part of our community, learning how to lead at the intersection of agriculture, education, and social equity.

The Role: What You’ll Be Doing

As a counselor, you are the bridge between the land and our campers. Your daily adventures will include:

Relationship & Connection: Proactively building warm, enthusiastic connections with campers, their families, your fellow counselors, and lead teachers.

Farm & Land Stewardship: Leading kids in daily farm chores (feeding animals, planting trees, and harvesting berries) and exploring the homestead on group hikes.

Community Food Justice: Co-facilitating our weekly pay-what-you-can farmers market along with our campers, to help neighbors access fresh, local food.

Mentorship & Play: Leading songs, reading books, facilitating games, and providing a joyful, uplifting presence for our campers.

Homestead Care: Preparing healthy snacks and assisting with behind-the-scenes work like washing dishes and keeping the space tidy.

Child Support: Helping kids navigate their day with care, including assisting younger campers in the bathroom and helping everyone stay regulated and happy.

Who You Are

We are seeking motivated youth (teens and young adults) who are:

Energetic & Engaged: You have a "ready-for-anything" attitude and love being active outdoors.

Articulate & Poised: You can communicate clearly and professionally with both a five-year-old and their caregivers.

Socially Conscious: You have a genuine interest in early childhood education, farming, food systems, and social justice.

Reliable & Positive: You show up on time with a smile, ready to support your team and your campers.

Our Commitment to Equity: Humble Heart Homestead is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We strongly encourage BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth to apply. Your perspective and lived experience are vital to our community.
