As part of the larger NOFA Vermon Winter Conference, Lauren will be leading a workshop entitled Healthy, Hearty, Happy Animals in Diversified Homestead Operations.

This workshop explores how to incorporate small livestock into a diversified homestead operation. Drawing from her experience on a three-acre farm, Lauren will share practical insights on working with chickens, ducks, and rabbits on her 3-acre farm. Participants will learn about integrating livestock into perennial food forests, rotational grazing, housing and feed decisions, animal husbandry, and closed-loop animal systems. You’ll have time for questions and discussion and will leave with strategies for supporting healthy, resilient, and well-cared-for animals.
